OUR PARTNER PROFILE SERIES CONTINUES WITH RELISH CO – THE LOCAL MEAL PREP BUSINESS BEHIND THE DEVILS’ PRE-GAME AND POST-GAME MEALS.

Relish Co launched three years ago – and they’ve been feeding the Devils from the get-go.

The Cardiff-based catering and meal prep business was founded by former Devils assistant coach, Jamie Elson – so it’s no surprise that they know how to feed a hockey team.

They know what pre-game fuel and post-game recovery a pro hockey player needs – and they’ve created pre-game and post-game menus for home games and on the road – for the last three seasons.

But they also make food for beyond the dressing room, too.

Relish Co have been catering the match night hospitality box at Ice Arena Wales for the past season – and their fresh deli-style grazing platters have earned rave reviews from everyone who’s been lucky enough to grab a bite.

“We’ve had great feedback from sponsors. Our Pastrami Reuben sandwiches are a keen favourite on match night – particularly with several Devils Employees!” says Jamie.

In fact, there's been so much demand for Relish Co's signature platters that they're now working with several Cardiff Devils sponsors to provide corporate catering for meetings, events and staff lunches.

“Through our relationship with the Devils we’ve been introduced to other Devils sponsors who now use us regularly to provide food for office and client meetings, staff lunches and gift packs,” adds Jamie.

But then lockdown hit.

Although corporate catering came to a temporary halt, Relish Co's demand didn’t.

They spent several weeks creating weekly meal packages to feed NHS staff working on the frontline in Wales. They also took time to review their business model and have adapted their product line to accommodate the pandemic’s restrictions and safety measures.

“Since July we’ve been back on it,” says Jamie.

No longer just for athletes and corporate clients – you can now get Relish Co’s signature deli style platters delivered to your home. Inspired by North American deli style food, these platters are ideal for home celebrations, picnics and afternoon teas. They’ll also earn you brownie points for both the flavours and the Instagrammable presentation.

And on the subject of brownies – they’ve even launched a dedicated brownie treat box. Yes, that’s right – gooey, chocolatey brownies delivered directly to your door.

“We’re big brownie lovers here at Relish Co. We always have tons of corporate clients comment on how good our brownies and treats are, so we decided to put together a really good quality treat box that we knew all of our customers would love.”

As for the future? It’s only on the up for Relish Co.

They’re branching out into street food scene, where their Beef Dip has been a success. Rumour has it that the Cardiff Devils’ favourite Reuben sandwich is set to make it onto their street food menu, too.

Meanwhile, as businesses re-open their corporate clients are gradually building back up, while more and more private clients are joining the queue to sample their sweet and savoury home deliveries, too.

Feeling hungry? You can find out more about Relish Co – and order their platters and treat boxes – over on social media.
