Bayley Harewood continues his development with the Devils

19 year old from Barry signs two-way deal with Telford and Devils

Bayley Harewood continues on a two-way contract with Devils and Telford Tigers

The Devils are pleased to confirm the return of Bayley Harewood on a two-way agreement for the upcoming 2022-23 season.  Harewood will play the majority of the season in Telford, the team he won the NIHL Championship with a season ago.

The Welsh born and bred forward calls Barry home and has been watching the Devils since he was a kid.  Last season was his first chance to ice for his hometown team when he played a total of 9 games with the Devils including one in the Champions Hockey League.

He started the 2021-22 season with the Bees IHC where he put up 7 goals and 9 assists for 16 points in 15 league games.  He also scored 7 goals and 3 assists in 7 Cup games for the Bees before the mid-season move to the Tigers. He continued to produce in Telford, scoring 11 goals and 6 assists in 21 games then added another 5 assists in 6 playoff games.

Although a number of teams in the NIHL were after him for the upcoming season, he chose to return to Telford and play for Tom Watkins who has been instrumental in his development as a player.  Watkins is one of the most respected coaches in the NIHL and 2022-23 will be his 13th season as Head Coach in Telford.

Devils Head Coach Brodie Dupont spoke about Harewood:

“Bayley continues to improve and made a big jump over the season last year to become an impact player at the NIHL level.

“He will continue to train each week with the Devils and will get some game time throughout the season, but I think he is still at least a year away from making the jump to being a full-time EIHL player.

“We are pleased with all of our two-way players, we think Bayley and the others give us a strong foundation for the future and I’m excited to watch him develop this season.”
