The 25 year old Canadian is expected to play this weekend
Coughler spent the 2020-21 season in the ECHL with the Orlando Solar Bears, scoring 14 goals and 9 assists in 28 games. His season ended early due to a knee injury, but he is back to full-strength and ready to hit the ice this week with the Devils.
Coughler plays both centre and wing but is more of a natural centreman and that is where he is pencilled into the Devils line-up. The 25 year old started the season with Odense Bulldogs in Denmark but left the team after 5 games.

“Jake is just starting his pro career but had a great season with Orlando before getting injured last season,” explained Devils Head Coach Jarrod Skalde.
“He skates well and can put the puck in the net, and I think he will slot in well with the team.”
Brodie Dupont will move onto the Injured Reserve (IR) list for the foreseeable future and could be out for the remainder of the season. Dupont has been playing with an upper body injury the last few weeks but chose to keep playing due to the low numbers in the Devils line-up.

Speaking about Brodie Dupont, Skalde said:
“Brodie has been playing hurt for a while and probably should have been sitting out recently, but he didn’t want to leave us short staffed. He has an injury that needs to be looked at and could end his season. We’ve been waiting to get a new player in to give him the time off to get better.”
Coughler arrived in Wales yesterday and as long as his PCR test comes back negative today, he will be on the ice tomorrow with his new teammates. The Devils expect to have him in the line-up this weekend against Guildford.
