The Devils have released 23 year old forward Rory Herrman.

Herrman joined the team just before Christmas and played a total of 7 Elite League games for the Devils.  He also played 3 games in the Continental Cup Final this past weekend in Angers, France.

Todd Kelman spoke about the departure of Herrman:

“This is Rory’s first taste of pro hockey and right now with us he was seeing very limited ice time.  We didn’t see that changing and we were honest with him about that.

“At this stage in his career, the most important thing for his development is ice time.  He won’t improve sitting on the bench in Cardiff and we made sure we found a team for him where he can play a more significant role.”

“We all would like to thank Rory for his contribution during his short time with the club and we hope that this move turns into a real positive one for him, which I believe it will.”

Rory has signed with the Telford Tigers in the NIHL and is expected to be on the ice with his new team on Thursday evening.

Everyone at the Devils would like to wish Rory the best of luck with his new team.
