The Cardiff Devils are pleased to confirm that Welsh forward Bayley Harewood will continue on a two-way agreement between the Devils and the Bristol Pitbulls.

Harewood joined the Pitbulls midway through the 2022-23 National League campaign and despite missing time through injury, managed to score 50 points across the season, with 13 goals and 20 assists in a Pitbulls jersey along with 17 points for the Telford Tigers.

Born in Barry, Harewood came through the Cardiff Devils youth system whilst also spending time in Canada at the Canadian International Hockey Academy. Bayley was also a standout for GB U20s last winter, picking up 8 points in 5 games for GB in Lithuania.

He iced 9 times for the Devils in 2021-22 playing in league, Challenge Cup and the Champions Hockey League.

Head Coach Pete Russell spoke about Bayley:

“First of all, we are delighted to have Junior GB International Bayley Harewood as part of our group and secondly, we are pleased to continue our development relationship with the Bristol Pitbulls.

“Developing players is something I feel strongly about, and Cardiff have always been a great club for pushing British players at the highest level.

“Bayley is a really talented young man. He skates really well, has good skills and is in very good condition. To  transition to higher leagues and levels  we want to continue to work with Bayley and also grow his hockey mind within the journey.

“Bayley will skate with us to 2/3 days per week and will then practice and play with Bristol in the NIHL. This is a great pathway and opportunity for the top young talents. We will keep close tabs on him and other prospects to support them in their development.”
