It’s official, Jake Coughler is back for the Cardiff Devils for another season.
Coughler joined the Devils midway through the 2021-22 season and had an immediate impact, scoring 10 goals in his first 11 games. He finished the season with 26 goals and 45 points in 40 games played in all competitions.

Coughler clicked immediately with his linemates Trevor Cox and Cole Sanford, and together they became one of the top scoring lines in the league in the second half of the season. The trio saved their best for last as they combined for 9 goals over the 4 games in the playoffs, culminating in the Playoff Championship win to end the season.

Head Coach Brodie Dupont spoke about signing Coughler:
“Jake made his mark immediately when he arrived last season and never looked back. He is a very skilled player with great speed, but he also plays with an edge, which is what makes him so effective.
“He is such a competitor and it showed how much he was willing to do to win by his performance in the playoffs. This is a great first signing to bring back with more to follow in the next couple of weeks.
“Jake Coughler is exactly the type of guy and player we want in our organisation and to build around.”
Before joining the Devils, Coughler had a brief stint in Denmark with the Odense Bulldogs. Prior to the 2021-22 season, he spent two seasons in the ECHL with the Orlando Solar Bears scoring 27 goals in 58 games.
