In 2014-15, his first season in charge of the Devils, he led the team to the Challenge Cup Title, the first major trophy for the Devils in 9 years. He was also selected as Coach of the Year by the UK Ice Hockey Journalists.
In 2015-16, his second season as player-coach, Lord guided his team to the Erhardt Conference Title as well as leading his team to the Challenge Cup final, the Playoff Finals weekend while narrowly missing out on the League title finishing in 2nd place overall, just 2 points behind the League winners. He was nominated for Coach of the Year as chosen by the GMs and Coaches around the EIHL.
On the ice, Lord continues to be one of the top players in the league. Last season he registered 51 points in 64 games including 13 goals, while also displaying his fearless style of play and leading by example for his teammates.
Lord previously spent time in the AHL with the Oklahoma City Barons for one and a half seasons, where after a season ending injury was given the opportunity to help the coaching staff. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. He also earned his MBA from Cardiff Metropolitan University last season.
