Thie 2021-22 season will be Justin's first season in Cardiff.

The 29 year old right winger joins the Devils from IF Bjorkloven of Sweden’s Allsvenskan league where he spent the last 2 seasons.

Before turning pro, Crandall played 4 years at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, one of the top NCAA hockey programmes in the USA.  He led his team in goals his 3rd season at Duluth and finished second on the team his final year.

After graduating, he spent 2 years in the ECHL with the Reading Royals, putting up some big numbers both seasons.  His first year he led Reading in scoring with 17 goals and 38 assists for 55 points in 54 games.  The next season he scored 22 goals and 36 assists in 66 games and was selected to play in the ECHL All-Star game.

His impressive play in North America caught the eye of a handful of European teams and he made the move across the water in 2017-18 to star for Esbjerg Energy in the top Danish league. He led Esbjerg in scoring in his only season in Denmark netting 19 goals and 25 assists for 44 points in 44 games.

Crandall then moved to Sweden and split the 2018-19 season between Karlskrona and AIK combining for 16 goals and 42 points in 51 games. The last two seasons with Bjorkloven he has scored 42 points (16 goals) and 35 points (9 goals) in 47 games each season.
