The Devils' players and staff would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all the kids that made Sunday's Kids' Takeover game such a massive success. kids-day-2025.jpgThe Devils welcomed over 100 kids aged from 5 to 11 along with their parents and guardians on Sunday as the kids took over all the match night jobs from scanning tickets to postgame interviews and everything in between.  kids-day-2025-clap-banners.jpgWe had a a pre-game briefing an hour before the doors opened to go through the jobs that all the kids had been assigned for the match.  Each department had a supervisor from the Devils' staff or one of our fabulous volunteers. kids-day-stands.jpgOnce the jobs were assigned and everyone had collected their t-shirts, it was time to get to work.  We had kids working the sales stands selling raffle tickets, match night programmes and chuck a pucks. kids-day-sellers.jpgWe also had kids working the crowd along with our fantastic volunteers as roaming sellers in charge of selling 50/50 tickets and shirt off his back tickets.  kids-day-vip-doors.jpgSome of the kids were assigned to our VIP Entrance where they were in charge of escorting our sponsors up to the Business Lounge or the Blues Sky Lounge where our match sponsor was hosting a large group.  kids-day-gantry.jpgAs the clock ticked down to face-off, we had 22 kids up on the gantry ready to announce the Devils' lineup for the game and take over the game night announcing throughout the match.stats-kids-day.jpgOur stats team had a special briefing to show the kids in their department exactly how the system works and helped them take the vital statistics that were passed down to the coaches in between periods.  dj-kids-day.jpgMaybe the busiest spot all evening was the DJ area where we saw kids getting their turn to choose the music going out during the stoppages in play and to work the crowd camera to engage with the audience.  poster-kids-day.jpgWe even had kids making posters for their favourite players before the doors opened and displaying them around the plexi during warmup.

There were kids making tiktok videos throughout the game with our social media crew, kids on our photography team taking photos of the players during warmup and of fans throughout the game.  All in all, a fantastic experience for so many of our younger fans and a day that they won't forget.  noah-kids-day-2025.jpg"We started doing this a few years ago because we wanted a way to engage more with the next generation of Devils fans," explained Managing Director Todd Kelman.

"We wanted to give our younger fans a day just for them to get involved and feel part of the team, so that is how we came up with the Kids' Takeover game.

"I think this is a great experience for the kids and a lifetime memory for them.  I want to thank all of them and of course their parents and guardians who were with them throughout the game.

"I also want to thank all of the Arena staff, Devils' staff, stewards, security, and our awesome volunteers that made Sunday such a memorable experience for all those kids.

"Finally, thank you to all the fans that were extra patient to allow the kids to do their jobs, which added to the experience.  We are so lucky to have such an awesome fan base and Sunday was a reminder of how special things are here in Cardiff."dan-kids-day.jpg
