Player Profile

Mac Carruth joins the Devils from German side Lausitzer Fuchse of the DEL2 where he spent the last 2 seasons as their starting netminder.

He played 38 games in 2020-21 posting a 3.10 goals against average and a save percentage of 91.1%.  In 2018-19 in 43 starts he posted a 2.98 average and a 92% save rate winning 20 games along the way.

The 29 year old was a 2010 draft pick of the Chicago Blackhawks and he spent 4 years in the Blackhawks minor league system splitting time between the ECHL and Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

He moved across to Europe for the 2017-18 season and spent the next two years with Fehervar AV19 of the Austrian League before moving to Germany ahead of the 2019-20 season.

During his time in Rockford, he worked with former Devils netminder and current goaltending coach for the IceHogs Peter Aubry. Aubry gave a great recommendation on Carruth as did former Nottingham Panthers head coach Corey Neilson who coached Carruth in Germany the last 2 seasons.
