Sean Bentivoglio announces his retirement

AFTER 4 YEARS AS A CARDIFF DEVIL, SEAN BENTIVOGLIO IS RETIRING FROM PLAYING THE GAME PROFESSIONALLY.

Sean informed the club of his decision before going back home and made it official with this statement on Twitter today.

Benti played 273 games for the Devils in his four seasons in Cardiff, scoring 66 goals and 161 assists. He won two Elite League titles, 2 Playoff titles and one Challenge Cup title. Prior to his time in Cardiff, Sean played 5 seasons in Italy for Asiago where he also represented the national team.

Head coach Andrew Lord described Benti as the ultimate gamer and one of the greatest competitors we've ever had. The full statement from Lordo:

Fellow Thorold nartive and Devils captain Joey Martin described him as one of the biggest competitors he's ever played with and said that every locker room needs a guy like Benti.
