The Cardiff Devils are pleased to confirm the re-signing of Evan Mosey. The 2025-26 season will be his fifth season as a Devil after originally signing in Cardiff a few weeks into the 2018-19 season after a brief stint in Denmark.
He finished that year by lifting the Playoff Championship with the Devils but was injured with Team GB a few weeks later at the World Championships, which kept him out of the majority of the 2019-20 season. He returned for 8 games, scoring 4 goals and 3 assists before Covid shut down the league. He split the Covid season between Gap in France and EHC Frieburg in Germany before returning to the UK with the Sheffield Steelers for two seasons. He put up 23 goals and 36 assists in 90 games over 2 years in Sheffield but had his eye on a return to Cardiff, which happened ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Last season, Mosey led all Devils defencemen in points, scoring 8 goals and 31 assists in 66 games. His versatility is his biggest asset, as he plays both forward and defence, often during the same game. Mosey is 36 years old but has not slowed down at all. He remains one of the fastest skaters in the league, which allows him to join the rush to be an offensive threat but still get back to be defensively responsible.
Devils’ Managing Director Todd Kelman spoke about re-signing Mosey:
“Evan is one of the most valuable players in the league because of his ability to play both forward and defence at the level he can in either position.
“If we have an injury up front, he can slide into a top 6 role quite easily because he skates so well.
“He is a leader for us, on and off the ice and brings a great work ethic every day whether it is a game or training. He is a huge part of this team, and I am very pleased to get him back for another season.”
