THE DEVILS ARE PLEASED TO CONFIRM JOEY HADDAD IS BACK FOR A 6TH SEASON IN CARDIFF.

In his five years as a Devil he has played 324 games, scored 104 goals and added 154 assists for 258 points. He has also won 2 League titles, 2 Playoff titles, 2 Challenge Cups and 3 Conference titles.

The 30-year-old joined the Devils from the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL, who he spent 3 seasons with and captained in his final season, while also playing in the AHL for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Joey who is from Sydney, Nova Scotia, played 64 AHL games and 263 ECHL games before making the move to Cardiff in the summer of 2014. The right winger was reunited in Cardiff with Andrew Lord who was his captain in the 2010-11 season when they both played for the Wheeling Nailers in the ECHL.

Despite struggling with injury from Christmas till the end of the season, Joey played 58 games across all competitions and recorded 44 points (17+27) and was on the bench all Playoff weekend to support his teammates and the coaching staff.

Joey is one of the most popular players with the Devils fanbase and his former captain and now head coach Andrew Lord says his return to the team is vital:

“Bringing back Joey is a no-brainer for us. Despite his struggles with injury last season, he still put up the points when he was fit and he brings so much to the team. He is a great teammate and having been here for as long as he has, he understands the values and ethos of this club better than most.”

“Cardiff is his home away from home now and I know how much this city and club means to him. He is doing all the right things to come back stronger next season and I’m thrilled to have him back. He scores big goals and has become a real leader - on and off the ice.”

Haddad will once again be sponsored by MH Flooring Limited, run by longtime Devils fan Marcus Howells.
