For the second night in a row, the Devils scored 6 goals to get the win over the Milton Keynes Lightning.
It may have taken overtime, but the Devils skated away with the win on Wednesday night in Dundee.
The Devils scored first after a bad bounce in the Stars zone resulted in Stephen Dixon getting the puck all alone in front of the net. He put the puck between the legs of Pontus Sjogren to make it 1-0 at 6:35.
Three minutes into the middle period the Devils powerplay went to work and doubled the lead for the visitors. Charles Linglet got the goal after Sjogren made a nice save on Joey Martin but the rebound was left for Linglet to tap in at 23:04 to make it 2-0.
The Dundee Stars powerplay pulled them back within a goal when Jordan Cownie scored at 35:31. It looked like the Devils scored a third goal but in fact the goal was disallowed and Sean Bentivoglio was called for interference at 39:02. On the ensuing powerplay, Cownie scored his 2ndgoal of the game to tie the game at 2-2 with 37 seconds remaining in the second period.
The Devils had two powerplay chances in the final period but could not convert with the man advantage and the game remained tied at 2-2 after 60 minutes of play.
Just 11 seconds into overtime, Cownie was called for hooking and as the boos rang out in Dundee Ice Arena, the Devils went on the powerplay in overtime. Gleason Fournier made quick work of the man advantage, skated through the Dundee defence and rifled the puck over the shoulder of Sjogren to win the game for the Devils 28 seconds into extra time.
