For the second night in a row, the Devils scored 6 goals to get the win over the Milton Keynes Lightning.
The Devils pulled off a late victory courtesy of a short-handed game winner from Captain Jake Morissette with 2 minutes left to play.

Coventry Blaze opened the scoring 8 minutes into the game when Shawn Pauly beat Ben Bowns for the only goal of the opening period.
After a defensively tight first 20 minutes, the middle period was filled with 7 goals starting with Mike Hedden’s first of the game to tie it up at 1 apiece at 22:18.

The Blaze came straight back to retake their lead just 29 seconds later at 22:47 courtesy of the league’s leading scorer, Ben Lake. Then right off the next face-off, Lake set up Tim Crowder to give the Blaze a 3-1 lead, this one coming just 23 seconds after the previous goal.

Joey Martin pulled the Devils back within 1, beating Matt Hackett at 24:52 to make it 3-2. Ten minutes later, Martin tied the game with his 2nd goal of the game, this time on the powerplay at 35:08.

At 37:49 the Devils took the lead for the first time with another powerplay goal, this time a rocket from Gleason Fournier from the blueline to beat Hackett and make it 4-3. But the Blaze came straight back with Ben Lake dancing through the Devils defence at 1:05 left in the period to tie the game at 4-4 after 40 minutes of play.

Mike Hedden gave the Devils a 5-4 lead at 44:12 with his 2nd goal of the game, but again the Devils gave up a goal from the Blaze the very next shift with Chris Joyaux scoring on the powerplay at 45:21.

A late interference call on Drew Schiestel gave the Blaze a powerplay in the dying minutes but it was the dynamic penalty killing duo of Matthew Myers and Jake Morissette who cleared the puck and ended with Morissette blasting a shot on Hackett then picking up his own rebound to score the game winner with just 2:01 to play.

Joey Martin and Mike Hedden both scored 2 goals and 1 assist, while Fournier had a goal and 3 assists. The Devils powerplay went 2 for 3 and Ben Bowns made 23 saves for the win.
