THE ELITE LEAGUE CARDIFF DEVILS TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF FUTURE ICE HOCKEY PLAYERS IN CARDIFF

The Cardiff Devils will be joining the Cardiff Junior Devils Ice Hockey Academy on the ice this season to help run training sessions. The Junior Academy have players from age 5-18 who train every week and play league games as part of the English Ice Hockey Association. Ben Davies and Bayley Harewood are members of the current Cardiff Devils squad who first started their careers in the Academy. junior-devils.jpgPictured above: The Junior Devils with the Cardiff Devils for their Academy photoAcademy Head Coach, Paul Malfatti:

"The opportunity to have the Cardiff Devils join our training sessions is awesome.  We have an experienced coaching team at the Academy, but our players and coaches learn so much from having professional players provide their unique insight into the game.

“We were fortunate to have the Cardiff Devils on our training sessions last season, and the level of interaction between the juniors and the pros had a huge impact on player development. We can’t wait to launch the initiative this season!"davies-goal-v-sheffield-aug-31-2025-JA.jpgPictured above: Ben Davies is a product from the Junior DevilsCardiff Devils Managing Director Todd Kelman:

“Every one of our professional players were coached at some point by former players that wanted to give back to the sport they love.  This is our players commitment to giving back to the next generation of ice hockey players coming through the ranks of the Junior Devils.

“Our guys love going on the ice with the juniors, and I think their experience is invaluable for these kids at every age.  We do it as much as we can during a very busy schedule, but every player will be on the ice with the juniors throughout the season.”

The Elite League Cardiff Devils recently surprised the junior players and joined in the back row of the annual Academy photograph as the junior players prepare for the 2025-2026 season.
