The Devils continued their winning ways on Saturday night at home in the Viola Arena with an impressive win over Manchester in front of another sold-out crowd.
The teams traded goals in the opening period with Mike Hedden scoring first by picking up a rebound off of a Gleason Fournier shot to make it 1-0 at 11:17. Manchester evened the score at 15:18 after a blocked shot landed on the stick of Mike Hammond who fired it into the open net to tie the game at 1-1.

A scoreless middle period saw the Devils fire 15 shots at Matt Ginn in net for the Storm, but they could not find the go-ahead goal and the game remained tied after 40 minutes of play.

The third period was highlighted with possibly the nicest goal scored this season courtesy of Gleason Fournier. The defenceman picked up the puck behind his own goal line and went the length of the ice, dancing between two Storm defenders before roofing the puck over the shoulder of Ginn for the go-ahead goal to put the home side up 2-1.

With 2:18 to play and the Storm pressing for the tying goal, Matt Pope put the game on ice with an impressive individual effort, holding off a Storm defenceman before tucking the puck past Ginn to make it 3-1.
The Devils finished with 41 shots on goal, while Bowns made 17 saves for the win. Fournier was picked as the Man of the Match for Cardiff, finishing with a goal and an assist on the night.
