Whether you are coming to both games this weekend, or taking your pick between the two, there is plenty going on this weekend at Ice Arena Wales...
The Cardiff Devils lost a vital point in Challenge Cup action on Saturday after losing in overtime to the Guildford Flames.
There was no scoring in the first period but the Devils were shorthanded twice with Joey Martin being called for cross-checking at 4:44 then charging late in the period at 17:43.
The Devils opened the scoring in the second period on the powerplay when Andrew Hotham pulled a loose puck out of a scramble in front of the Guildford goal and fired the puck past Chris Carrozzi to make it 1-0 at 21:43.
Ian Watters tied the game for the Flames at 25:51 when he deflected the puck past Ben Bowns with what the Devils protested was a high stick. The goal was reviewed and was ruled a good goal to tie the game 1-1.
The Flames took the lead early in the third period when Carl Ackered fired a cannon top shelf past Ben Bowns to make it 2-1 for the visitors at 43:33. It took the Devils until 55:02 to tie the game when Joey Martin found Matt Pope alone in front of the net to make it 2-2, which is how the third period finished.
Into overtime, and the Flames scored 27 seconds in on a rebound shot from Brett Ferguson with Jesse Craige there to tap in the rebound for the win.
