Devils Heading to Slovakia for Tatra Cup

The Cardiff Devils will compete in this year’s Tatra Cup, hosted by HK Poprad from August 19th-22nd.

The Cardiff Devils will compete in this year’s Tatra Cup, hosted by HK Poprad from August 19th-22nd.

The Tatra Cup is the second oldest ice hockey tournament in Europe, after the Spengler Cup.

This year’s format sees 6 teams competing for the title. Along with the Devils and the host team HK Poprad, the participating teams are HC Pustertal (Italy), Comarch Cracovia (Poland), HC 21 Presov (Slovakia) and HK Spisska Nova Ves (Slovakia).

The Devils have faced HK Poprad before at the start of the 2018-19 season when Cardiff hosted the Slovakian side for 2 friendly games.

The Devils will fly out to Slovakia on 19th of August with their first game the following day on Friday 20th August against HK Spissa Nova Ves. The following night, the Devils will face the host team HK Poprad with the finals being played on Sunday.
