The Devils were stunned by the Dundee Stars on Sunday night to end the weekend with two losses.
The Stars opened the scoring through Egils Kalns after just 1:55 played, and then a well-converted breakaway from Kevin Dufour made it 2-0 at 6:01.
The Devils were handed two quick penalties just over five minutes into the middle period, and on the ensuing 5 on 3 powerplay, Matt Carter scored for the Stars at 26:52 to put them up 3-0. Gleason Fournier pulled one back for the Devils at 28:45 to cut the deficit to two.
Fournier then pulled the Devils back to within one in bizarre circumstances as his shot from the blue line bounced off the backboards and deflected in off the back of Stars' goalie Alex Leclerc on 48 minutes.
However, as Dundee finished killing off a penalty Anthony Beauregard finished Colton Kroeker's feed at the back post to re-establish the home side's two-goal lead. Matt Marquardt rounded off a great night for the Stars with the empty-net goal 63 seconds from time.
