The Devils have confirmed the return of three more of their British players ahead of the 2025-26 season.
Mark Richardson returns for an 18th season with the club after captaining the Devils to a Continental Cup championship last season. The defensive standout enters the season in second place on the Elite League’s all-time games played leaderboard behind Jonathan Phillips, a record he should break in 2025-26. Last season, he played his 1,000th game for the Cardiff Devils, and helped lead Team GB to Gold at the World Championships in early May.

Last season he scored 6 goals and 6 assists in 52 games played in all EIHL competitions. He missed 19 games with a broken arm but returned for the last few weeks of the season and the playoffs. He is one of the league’s best penalty killers and a big reason why the Devils had the top PK in the EIHL last season. Davies also played a key role for Team GB’s Gold medal performance in May.

The 34 year old netminder posted a career best 92.73% save percentage, playing 30 games with 1 shutout and 19 wins. He was even better in the playoffs, with a 95.14% save percentage and 2 shutouts in 4 games. He also helped Team GB win Gold and promotion at the World Championships in May, winning all 3 games he played posting a 1.30 goals against average and a save percentage of 96.10%.
