The Cardiff Devils are pleased to announce the re-signing of defenceman Sam Jardine.
Jardine returns for his second season as a Devil after putting up 6 goals and 14 assists for 20 points in 63 games for the Devils in 2019/20. He led the Devils and finished second in the entire Elite League in plus/minus with a +24 rating.
26 year old Jardine joined the Devils after splitting the previous season in the American Hockey League (AHL) and the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) with the Toronto Marlies and the Newfoundland Growlers.
He won his second Kelly Cup (ECHL Championship) with the Newfoundland Growlers in the 2018/19 season. Jardine also won the Kelly Cup with the Colorado Eagles in the 2016/17 season.
Jardine was drafted in the 6th round of the 2011 NHL draft, 169th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks. He played 3 seasons at Ohio State, one of the top University programmes in America and was an alternate captain in his final season with Ohio State before turning pro.
