Edinburgh Capitals 1 - 3 Cardiff Devils
Faceoff: 18:00 - 06/10/13
Capitals finally managed to find the net after being blanked in their last two matches but still fell to 0 and 6 at home this season as Devils picked up a very welcome road win in Scotland’s capital.
A double from Ben Davies led the way for the Welsh side who move into fifth spot in the standings and continue an impressive start on the road, winning their fourth from five on their travels.
The opening session appeared to be heading goalless until finally the home faithful had something to shout about as Jade Portwood fired Capitals ahead at 17.18. The celebrations in front of a bumper home crowd did not last long however as Davies pulled Devils level at 19.19.
An early double strike by the visitors effectively settled this game as Mac Faulkner edged his side ahead at 23.25 and Davies shorthanded extended the lead at 24.45. That turned out to be the end of the scoring as Capitals offensive struggles continued, with only 19 shots in total being fired on Dan LaCosta in the Devils cage.
