Dundee Stars 4 - 2 Cardiff Devils

Stars ended 2012 by snapping a five game losing run with a very welcome league success over a Devils side who cannot shrug their inconsistent tag of late.

The early stages saw the visitors open their account at 4.56 thanks to a strike by Mac Faulkner but the home side hit back to tie the period with Sami Ryhanen on target at 10.54.

Stars then took the lead in the second period when Mike Wirll fired in at 23.43 but it was 2-2 at 32.23 with Devils levelling thanks to a strike from Chris Bright. The period scoring was not over however as at 36.41 the homes side were back in front with player/coach Jeff Hutchins beating Phil Osaer in the Devils cage to see his team lead going into the third session.

Both sides had early chance in the third but it was Stars who opened up a two-goal advantage at 48.18 as Bill Bagron fired home. Devils were then awarded a penalty shot at 55.40 but Faulkner was unable to convert and Devils last real chance had gone as Stars iced the win.
