Dundee Stars 1 - 9 Cardiff Devils
Faceoff: 19:00 - 17/11/12
The Devils completed a task that no other team has managed this season and that was to beat the Stars at home in regulation time. Stuart MacRae netted a brace of short handers with the first goal of the game as well as the last and helped his team to go above Sheffield into third place.
Devils got off to a blistering start as Stuart MacRae put them in front with a shorthanded goal at 3.36. The visitors doubled their lead with a strike from Kenton Smith at 5.37 and in the 11th minute Chris Blight added a third to give his team a three goal lead after the first period.
The Stars pulled one back with a strike from Sami Ryhanen at 26.34. Rather than this fuelling the home side, it fuelled up the Devils as Mac Faulkner at 31.58 and Paul Bissonnette less than a minute later gave them a 5-1 lead. A further two strikes from the Devils from Bari McKenzie at 35.42 and Ben Davies 28 seconds later ended the game as a contest.
With the points in the bag the Devils eased up in the third period and only added a further two markers late in the game. Chris Blight got his teams eighth at 55.29 and MacRae completed the scoring with his second shorthanded goal at 57.20.
