Coventry Blaze 3 - 6 Cardiff Devils

It was sweet revenge for the Devils who had lost out to the Blaze in Cardiff last night. The game was still in the balance going into the third period. However, four goals without reply from the visitors ended the game as a contest.

The visitors opened the scoring with a strike from Chris Blight at 12.30. They failed to hold onto their lead for very long as 61 seconds later the hosts were back on level terms as Dustin Cameron found the net. The Devils regained the lead with 23 seconds of the first period remaining as Kenton Smith slotted home.

Recently appointed captain Russell Cowley got the Blaze back on level terms as he found the net at 28.42. With neither team able to make any of the chances count the teams went in after two periods of hockey level at two apiece.

The game was ended as a contest as the Devils hit four by the 9th minute of the third period. A brace from Ben Davies set the Devils on the road he got his first 10 seconds into the third period and struck again at 43.22 to open up a two goal lead. Player/coach Gerad Adams with a 5 on 3 powerplay added a fifth at 46.24. This was followed by a strike from Jesse Gimblett 48.56. Matt Beleskey got what was no more than a consolation goal for the Blaze at 56.14.
