Cardiff Devils 5 - 1 Braehead Clan

Cardiff Devils returned to winning ways with over a comfortable win over the Braehaad Clan. With only 11 skaters the Clan were always going to be up against it in the Welsh capital. They had done well to keep it to a one goal game after the first period. But with the loss of a 5 on 3 powerplay goal and then what was virtually another powerplay goal the writing was on the wall.

Only the one goal separated the teams after the opening twenty minutes and it came the way of the home team when Phil Hill was on target at 17.06.

In the seventh minute of the second period the Devils doubled their lead with a 5 on 3 powerplay goal from Chris Blight. The Clan were in more penalty trouble in the 31^st minute and just as they got back to full strength Stuart MacRae put the hosts three in front as he netted at 32.56. The visitors reduced the deficit at 35.07 as Robert Farmer got them on the score sheet. However, the Devils restored their three goal lead as MacRae got his second of the game at 38.22.

With the points in the bag the Devils took their foot of the gas in the third period and the only time the net got bulged was at 46.54 as Blight netted his second of the game.
