Sheffield Steelers 2 - 3 Cardiff Devils

Cardiff came from two behind to net three without reply to win by the odd goal in five and at the same time inflict defeat on a Sheffield side who had won their eight previous games at home wins. The Devils also kept up their recent away form as their last six games on the road now reads LWLWLW if anything they are consistant!
The hosts opened the scoring at 6.32 with a strike from Ashley Tait. They doubled their lead with a powerplay goal at 10.22 from Drew Fata. The visitors got themselves right back into the game just before the end of the first period as returnee from suspension Max Birbraer reduced the deficit at 18.25.
The second period ended goalless and it remained with only a goal between the teams going into the third. At 44.59 Mac Faulkner got the Devils back on level terms and the he netted again at 55.27 to put the visitors in front. The Steelers pulled their goalie at 58.49 for the extra skater. However, they failed to find a way through and the Devils held on to take the points back to the Welsh Capital and move up to third in the league standings.
