Belfast Giants 1 - 2 Cardiff Devils
Faceoff: 19:00 - 12/11/11
Neil Francis described this performance as "a text book road win we can be proud of" and the Devils akted out the winners by the odd goal in three last night.
"It was by no means pretty but road wins don't have to be. Defensively the team did a great job, staying strong when Belfast put us under pressure." Continued he Devils bench coach.
The visitors netted the only goal of a pretty even first period as Phil Hill was on hand to strike home at 10.34.
Giants restored equality with a powerplay goal from Jeff Mason at 25.49. However, within a minute Devils restored their lead with a strike from Kenton Smith at 26.40.
Giants had more of the game in the third period as they pushed forward for an equaliser. Even with pulling goaltender Stephen Murphy towards the end the goal eluded them and Cardiff skated off with the points.
Head Coach Gerad Adams says,"Our PK units were outstanding tonight. We must now play consistently like this on the road to close the gap with the top teams.
