Hull Stingrays 2 - 2 Cardiff Devils
Faceoff: 18:00 - 06/11/11
A last minute goal by player/coach Gerad Adams could prove crucial as it earned Devils a tie against Stingrays, keeping the Welsh sides Challenge Cup hopes alive.
It;s between Devils, Sheffield and perhaps still Coventry as a very outside bet to join Nottingham in the last 4 from Group B but it very much looks like a 23rd December Cardiff v Sheffield clash will decide all.
Devils were first on the board at 11.01 when Ben Davies was on target and that proved to be the only marker of the opening period.
Stingrays were level early in the middle session with Jereme Tendler scoring at 21.54 and in fact the home side went ahead at 29.38 when Matt Davies fired home.
The 3rd period saw the game get increasingly chippy with a final 3rd period count of 72 minutes in penalties. Devils Chris Frank picking up a 2+5+10 at 53.12 for checking to the Head and fighting with Stingrays Dan Scott also assessed a fighting call and then a bust up on the final buzzer that saw fighting majors on Brad Voth of Devils and Stingrays player/coach Sylvain Cloutier as well as a game misconduct to Stingrays Derek Campbell for 3rd man in.
However, just under a minute before all that that the visitors had scored the dramatic equaliser when Adams found the net with 59 seconds remaining.
