Devils Raise Banners and Claim First Cup Win of the Season

The Devils skated to a 5-2 win over the visiting Milton Keynes Lightning on Saturday Night at Ice Arena Wales.

The Devils started the night by raising their banners to celebrate last season, but it was the Lightning that were celebrating first at 13:26 of the opening period when Paul Phillips made it 1-0.

The rest of the period belonged to the Devils with Gleason Fournier tying the game at 15:26 then an ill-timed cross-ice pass by a Lightning defender landed on the stick of Patrick Asselin who roofed the puck past Miika Wiikman to put the Devils up 2-1 at 17:14.

The Devils extended their lead just 1:26 into the middle period when Paul Crowder took a perfect pass from Joey Haddad behind the net and scored to make it 3-1.
