The Manchester Storm sweep into town on Sunday to face the Devils on home ice at ICE ARENA WALES...
The Devils skated to a 5-2 win over the visiting Milton Keynes Lightning on Saturday Night at Ice Arena Wales.
The Devils started the night by raising their banners to celebrate last season, but it was the Lightning that were celebrating first at 13:26 of the opening period when Paul Phillips made it 1-0.

The rest of the period belonged to the Devils with Gleason Fournier tying the game at 15:26 then an ill-timed cross-ice pass by a Lightning defender landed on the stick of Patrick Asselin who roofed the puck past Miika Wiikman to put the Devils up 2-1 at 17:14.

The Devils extended their lead just 1:26 into the middle period when Paul Crowder took a perfect pass from Joey Haddad behind the net and scored to make it 3-1.

At 36:16, the Lightning were within one, when Christian Isackson scored on the powerplay to make it 3-2, but at 37:44 the Devils were up by two again when Andrew Hotham tapped in a pass from Joey Martin on the powerplay to put the Devils up 4-2 after 40 minutes of play.

The score remained the same for the majority of the final period until the Devils’ Matt Pope scored into the empty net with 2 seconds left on the clock to finish off the scoring and give the Devils a 5-2 win.

The Devils powerplay was only 1 for 8, while Milton Keynes were 1 for 6 with the man advantage. The Man of the Match for the Devils was Patrick Asselin who scored a goal and added an assist on Crowder's second period goal.
