The Cardiff Devils are delighted to announce the signing of Centreman Mac Faulkner for the 2012-13 season.

The 28 year old left handed shot from King City, Ontario, has been a target of Devils Head Coach Gerad Adams for some time and there is no doubt G is ecstatic to have got his man:

'For 3 years I've wanted him on our team - he is what the devils and my philosophy are all about - hard working, skilled, and very determined.

He led the Italian legue in goals and PP Goals two years ago and has been a leader whereever he has played. He makes other players better. This was obvious right from his time as a Captain in his University days.

This is a team guy with an outstanding attitude - that is how everyone we spoke to describes him and I have to say a big thank you to Jay Latulippe, who offered a huge recommendation to Mac about playing in Cardiff.'

This is a versatile signing for Cardiff as Faulkner can play both wing and centre, although Adams says he will play him at centre to start

'From face off wins to winning individual battles - devils fans will love this guy - you will know he is on the ice every shift.

Faulkner will take up an MBA at cardiff business school, the superb Academic sponsor of The Cardiff Devils.

Adams's enthusiasm continues, as he says:

'As a coach I've never got off a first phone call with a player and thought: This is my man, he will get any job done' however I personally cannot wait to play with and coach him. He ticks a lot of boxes I felt we needed improvement on from last season. Mac is a huge piece of the puzzle - there will be more great news in the next couple of weeks

Adams has been on record previously about the importance of attitude and character - he says this signing is a major step towards his goal of having the hardest-working team in the EIHL:

'We will not be out-worked next year, we will have the best and most impressive work-ethic of any team but still maintain a high skill level.'
