The Cardiff Devils have agreed terms for the return of their EIHL superstar forward Mac Faulkner for the 2013/14 season. The club released the news in an on ice interview ahead of the Devils match when Devils' Managing Director Brent Pope asked Faulkner whether he would be looking to return to Cardiff next year. Faulkner replied, "my fiancé Diane and I have really enjoyed our first season in the Elite League and everyone has been so good to us from the management of the Devils, the medical staff at Vale Healthcare and all of our great fans in Cardiff. It has been a challenging time for me but Diane and I are excited about coming back and I will be even stronger for the 2013/14 season."

The BBT exploded when Faulkner admitted that he would be returning to lead the Devils' offensive assault next season and the response was overwhelmingly. The Toronto native was noticeably touched by the reception and the applause brought an immediate injection of energy into the Devils' lineup as the Devils came out firing on all cylinders.

Brent Pope admitted that the announcement will help the Club gather positive momentum behind their Season Ticket sales and hinted there are more positive announcements to come, "securing Mac for next season is huge for our organisation and he will continue to be the cornerstone of how we will build our club. Mac has shown his class on and off the ice for us and whilst his knee injury has been difficult for the team we believe his approach to recovering from surgery will make him even better. It is a calculated gamble that we have every confidence will be mutually successful for our team, fans and organisation."
