2012/13 SEASON DEVILS FIXTURES ANNOUNCED
Posted on 2 July 2012
The Elite League Fixtures have been announced today (Monday 2nd July) on the EIHL Website.
The Devils CEO, Paul Ragan "We are very pleased with this year's fixtures, which boasts 19 Sunday's, 6 Saturday's and 4 midweek fixtures, plus a home date on Boxing Day vs. Coventry Balze.
The fixtures are nicely spread with a couple of dates scheduled for a double header trip to both Scotland and Belfast during the season, which I hope the fans will be happy with.
It's very noticeable this year, that with the new conference structure, there will be many more competitive matches in the infamous blue tent, and with the team looking very strong and nearing completion of its full squad signed, winning a trophy this year is most definitely a real target!"
Brent Pope commented on the league opening weekend and September's fixtures, "The first month is slightly tougher than we maybe planned for, however there will be a lot of good hockey played in the month of September, and what a better way to start than taking on our arch rivals from Sheffield."
Roll on August, when the Devil's plan to start their pre-season with fixtures against the Coventry Blaze on Wednesday August 29th at 7.30pm face off.
This will be followed by a further "Meet The Players Event" at Mermaid Quay on the afternoon of Sunday September 2nd, followed by a senior match between the Elite League Devils vs. their National ice Hockey League Development Side. This event will be a fundraiser for the DCF and we look forward to a great community day in the Bay.
The final pre-season game will be away to Coventry on September 5th.
