The Devils bounced back from Saturday’s defeat in Nottingham with a lopsided victory over the Edinburgh Capitals on Sunday.
A 5-goal opening period and hat-tricks from Drew Paris and Joey Haddad highlighted a dominating road win over the Elite League’s last place club.
Andrew Hotham opened the scoring at the 4:22 mark of the first period. Haddad scored his first of the night at 10:03 then Paris scored two in a row, first at 12:25 then at 15:43 to put the Devils up 4-0. Matthew Myers made it 5-0 at 15:54 to give the Devils a huge lead after the first period of play.
Thomas Murdy replaced Ben Bowns in goal for the Devils at the start of the second period. At 24:24 Dylan Anderson scored to pull one back for the Capitals, but the Devils came back with another two goals to take a commanding 7-1 lead. First Jake Morissette scored the 6th for the Devils at 26:11 then Haddad scored his 2nd of the night at 28:44. Edinburgh managed another goal, with Anderson scoring this one too, at 35:22 to make it 7-2 after 40 minutes of play.
At 46:45, Paris scored on the powerplay to complete his hat-trick, then Haddad got his hat-trick goal at 50:11, again on the powerplay to put the Devils up 9-2. Patrick Asselin got the Devils 10th goal at 56:46 to round out the scoring with the game finishing 10-2 for the Devils.
