The Cardiff NIHL Devils are pleased to announce the signing of Centre man Jamie Newton from Bristol Pitbulls and Telford Tigers. Jamie signed a two way deal last season between the Bristol set up and the Tigers of the English Prmier League. Having spent most of his time in the Swindon junior set up where he represented the Wildcats at ENL Level, Jamie scored 190 points in 119 games before making the move to Bristol, Last season Jamie scored 35 points in 35 games for the pitbulls and made the step up to the Telford Tigers where he played 2 games scoring one goal at EPL Level.

Mark Cuddihy was delighted to bring Jamie to Cardiff:

'I’ve been a fan of Jamie for quite some time since his days at Swindon, I was hoping when we signed Grant Richardson that maybe Jamie would follow but he had already committed himself to Bristol.

He is an experienced Centre at this level and has great numbers for our league, he showed what a good goal scorer he is by getting on the score sheet Telford in his EPL Debut, Jamie has been skating with us for a few weeks now and fits in to our team perfectly'

Newton Added 'I’m very excited to be offered the opportunity to join the Cardiff Devils this year. With the Devils reputation as a team who compete hard in every game, I`m eager to add my contribution to this positive work ethic and look forward to a great season.'

Jamie will wear the number 2 jersey for the NIHL Devils. Welcome to Cardiff Jamie.
