On Sunday September 2nd the traditional "Meet the Cardiff Devils Players Event" will be held between 13.00-15.00 in Mermaid Quay (Cardiff Bay) during one of the biggest and busiest weekends in the Cardiff Bay summer calendar.

The Elite League Cardiff Devils will be officially introduced to their Cardiff Devils fans in an "Open Event" free to everyone as a part of an entire Cardiff Devils day out!

The Devils new partnership with Mermaid Quay will see the introduction of the "Cardiff Devils" take place outside of the iconic Terra Nova Bar Restaurant in Cardiff Bay allowing Devils' fans and families the chance to meet and mingle with members of this year's team.

The second part of the full day takes place at the Big Blue Tent @ 18.00, when the Cardiff Devils will face their DCF "NIHL 1" colleagues in a pre-season friendly to help both teams prepare for their upcoming seasons. After the game, a "Skate With The Players" event will follow the match.

The Devils Community Foundation aka the "DCF" has existed since 2008 as a Registered Charity and as the interface between the professional Cardiff Devils Ice Hockey Club and it's South Wales community, during this time the DCF has been responsible for operating grassroots ice hockey development in Cardiff at both participation and performance levels. 

The Cardiff Devils "ENL 1" team has been the pride of the DCF, playing in a semi-professional league as amateurs, producing talent that will hopefully one day play for the Elite League Devils. Current Cardiff Devils' Ben Davies, Adam Harding & Luke Piggot are all examples of emerging talent that have come through the Devils' reserves team "ENL 1" recently renamed the "National Ice Hockey League" (NIHL).

The Cardiff Devils "NIHL 1" team continues to develop talent and with a number of prospective professionals budding in its midst they have been given their chance to shine and showcase their skills up against their Senior colleagues to help the Elite League Cardiff Devils prepare for the 2012/13 season ahead.

Devils' Director of Community & Player Development Brent Pope believes this a tremendous opportunity for both teams to start the season, "we wanted to do something different this season by including the DCF and the NIHL 1 team at the start of the season and give our own players the opportunity to show our Devils's fans the talent that is coming in Cardiff in the coming seasons!" 

Ticket for this Devils v DCF match will be £10 for Adults, £8 Concessions and £5 for children. All monies raised will be going to support the Devils Community Foundation (DCF) and NIHL 1 team manage the increasing cost of playing within a semi-professional league.
