After 3 years as a Cardiff Devil, Chris Culligan is retiring from playing the game professionally.
Culligan informed Coach Andrew Lord last week that he had decided to retire from playing and earlier today, he made it official with this statement via twitter.
"We actually signed Chris for next season before he went home at the end of April, so we obviously were looking forward to having him back for another year," explained Todd Kelman.
"But he got in touch with us last week to let us know that he wanted to pursue an opportunity that has come up back home.
"We love Culli, he was a big part of our team for the past 3 years and he has been a part of alot of special moments for the Devils. We wish him well for whatever he decides to do next."
Culligan was picked as the Player's Player of the Year by his teammates this past season. The Devils would like to thank Chris for 3 memorable years and for being a huge part of the 5 titles we have won together.
