Gerad Adams will once again combine his Head Coach duties with a place on the ice for the 2011-12 season.
After joining the Cardiff Devils in 2005, Gerad started the following season as Captain before taking over as coach from Ed Patterson midway through the season.
At home on either defence or the wing, this will be Adams' 11th season in Britain having previously played for Edinburgh Capitals, London Knights and Sheffield Steelers. Gerad did briefly retire from playing duties in 2008 but after returning to the ice to cover injury problems, has remained a vital part of the Devils defence whilt keeping his versatility to play in attack when needed.
Neil Francis:
I thought G's season last year was his best in the 6 seasons he has been in a Devils uniform. G quite often asks me how he is playing and I usually have to tell him that I haven't noticed!
Far from being an insult it is probably the best compliment a defensive defenceman can get. The biggest challenge I have with G is getting him to play more minutes as he is quite harsh on himself and too quick to reduce his ice time where I know he should be playing more.
