Brent first arrived in Cardiff as a player with the Devils during the inaugural 1996/97 Superleague Championship season and finished his first 3 years with the club winning the 1998/99 Superleague Playoff Championship as well.
Since finishing his 15 year professional career which started in North America as a member of the Edmonton Oilers’ organisation Brent has become an integral part of the Cardiff Devils and now heads up the Cardiff Devils registered charity the Devils Community Foundation (DCF).
During his playing career Brent completed his undergraduate BA Hons degree in Business & Leisure Management whilst a member of the Nottingham Panthers at Nottingham Trent University and finished his MA in Coaching & Sports Development at UWIC in Cardiff in 2010.
After naturalising as a British citizen in 2002 Brent was honoured to be selected to represent the GB Senior Men’s Ice Hockey team at World Championship level in Croatia (2003) and Norway (2004) and captained a young GB side in the Euro Tournament hosted in Hungary in 2002 winning the Best Defenseman award.
A natural communicator, Brent is a Level 3 IIHF Ice Hockey Coach and currently Coaches the England U16’s National team in addition to his roles as a sports commentator. He has represented BBC Network Television at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino and the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver commentating on Ice Hockey in addition to working for SKY Sports, Euro Sport and ESPN America during his commentary career.
Brent resides in Cardiff and looks forward to growing the sport of ice hockey in South Wales and furthering the Cardiff Devils development and home grown success through the DCF.
