Profile

'The Lord Mayor of Cardiff" is back with the Devils for his 7th and final season. Since 2005 Brad Voth has been the most recognised and talked about player in British Ice Hockey.

Whilst his size is understandably one of his biggest assests, Brad also has the speed and skill to terrorise opposition defences and netminders, proven by the fact that he was the clubs top scorer in the 2007-08 season.

Club captain for over three seasons, Voth lifted the British Knockout Cup in 2008 and was a key part of the team that won the Challenge Cup the previous season.

One of the most sought after players in the EIHL, Voth has remained loyal to Cardiff and is the clubs record Penalty Minutes holder with more than 2000 PIMs.

Neil Francis:

If anyone tells you that the Devils would be better off without Vother, they clearly don’t want to face him! Speaking with friends throughout the league during the summer about the possibility of Brad not coming back, they all said that we won’t know what he brings until he’s gone and that he’s easily the biggest topic of conversation before games.

So when Brad decided to come back for one last year it was a huge relief. I instantly felt a sense of security about our team and knew that the rest of our team just became better players – he really does have that influence. The rest of the league is still trying to find that guy who can hit, fight , score and carry the fear factor like Vother.
