June Events


June 29 Cardiff Blues Fun Day

The Cardiff Devils Community Foundation kick-started its summer activities in fine style at the Cardiff Blues Family Fun Day. The event, held on June 29th at the Arms Park, saw over 1000 kids and adults introduced to the Devils.

 

July Events
 
July 5 DCF Travels West 
The DCF travelled to Newton Primary school fete who last season took advantage of the ‘Adopt a School’ programme. The fete, brought the Devils, the school and their sponsors Primus Group back together.
 
 
 
  
July DCF Delivers Fun for All
 
Current Devils and local Welsh talents Phil Hill and Tom Evans supported the Head of the DCF Brent Pope to bring smiles and hockey to this very special school, with the help of the Devils good friends at Primus Group.
 
 
 
July 14 Fun with Phil at the Millennium Stadium 
Home-grown Devils star Phil Hill got his second taste of the flourishing Devils Community Foundation (DCF) in just four days, when over 500 kids were introduced to ice hockey at Wales’ iconic Millennium stadium.
 
 
 July 16 DCF, Barclay’s Bank and Greenhill School
Head of the DCF, Brent Pope was invited by Barclays to speak at Greenhill school for boys in Rhiwbina, as part of their local community initiatives.
 
July 19th & 20th DCF - Feeding the 10,000
The DCF made their presence felt to a whopping 10,000 people at the Tesco’s Children’s Festival in Cooper’s field over the 19th and 20th of July.
 
August Events
 August 1st to 8th - National Eisteddfod of Wales 2008
The Devils Community Foundation was in full swing this past week at the National Eisteddfod hosted in Cardiff at the Pontcanna Fields sight. Head of the DCF Brent Pope led the week long event that is widely known as the biggest cultural festival in Europe with estimated crowds of 156,000 people attending despite the difficult weather conditions.

DCF Helping to Keep Cardiff Tidy

 
This past weekend over 150 members of the Devils Community Foundation including the Senior Cardiff Devils, Junior Cardiff Devils, Parents and Devils’ supporters alongside Cardiff Council’s Keep Cardiff Tidy Officers helped  contribute to a mass litter pick in the International Sports Village.
Local Assembly Member Lorraine Barrett helped lead the event in partnership with Devils’ Chairman Matt & Fleur Burge and helped make the event an outstanding success. Head of the Devils Community Foundation was proud of everyone’s contribution on the day. ‘Cardiff Council’s Keep Cardiff Tidy campaign shares a similar philosophy to the DCF in having respect and pride in our city and community.’
