ENL Devils statement

Last night the ENL Cardiff Devils travelled to Invicta for their last home game before the Christmas break. The fixture was not concluded in an incident-filled episode.

Devils veteran defenceman Jason Stone said:

‘In all my time and over 1000 games of hockey I never thought I would be shocked at what I saw; today I am truly shocked.'  

Head Coach Mark Cuddihy said, ‘I have a duty of care towards my players, and the safety and wellbeing of the people in our organization is always of paramount importance to us.

These were extraordinary circumstances. I would like to thank those Invicta fans who were trying to resolve the situation, and the rink staff for providing their security team to the players entrance to ensure our personnel could leave  the building safely’

The ENL Devils will be fully cooperating with the EIHA to investigate the incidents leading to the abandonment of the game and will not be making any further public statement until those investigations are concluded.
