Cardiff Devils ENL announce the signing of two of last year’s centres from last season successful team

Luke Piggott, having had a stand out season last year Luke returns to the club after scoring 57 points in the league last season. Luke is a current member of the GB Universities team and played in the world championships in China last year. Canadian born Luke also played for Romford Raiders in the EPL along with other Cardiff lads.

Chris Jones is entering his 2nd senior season and is a product of the fantastic youth development in Cardiff. In only his first year Chris scored 19 goals with 35 assists given him 54 points, a fantastic achievement for such a young player. CJ is one of the fastest players in the league and probably the EPL; he has great hands and passes the puck well. Another one to go on a two way with Romford getting MOM and 1+1 in his first game.

Head Coach Mark Cuddihy said:
 
“It’s great to bring these guys back again. There was interest from other teams in the Enl and EPL but we are looking at a much bigger picture with them. They both have the potential to play Elite League hockey if they continue to improve and we are hoping that they will have some practice time with the Elite team this year.
 
Both of these guys have over 100 points between them and it’s important to re-sign this quality of player, Chris Jones came though the same Junior team as Ben Davies, it has taken CJ a little longer to develop than Ben did but he is flying right now, he does everything I ask of him and I believe could be the next star out of our programme”
