The Cardiff Devils have their season ticket target in sight as corporate ticket sales gather momentum

The off-season rumbles on, and the Devils commercial focus is matching it stride for stride. At the end of last season the club management set an ambitious target of 750 season ticket sales. With well over 500 already sold, the Devils now turn their attention to processing all the corporate season tickets sold this year.

“We’re halfway through the paperwork side, and we have more just waiting to come back in,” said Simon Hodgkinson, Commercial Manager, today.
“We all knew that 750 was a big number for us but the hard work everyone has put in is paying dividends. We have added the first batch of corporate tickets that are fully processed to the tracker today, and it is great news.”
Indeed it is, as the Devils ST total now stands at 642. That means that very soon one lucky fan will be receiving a FREE season ticket in our prize draw. Once we reach 666 sales we will be holding a draw for all those ticket holders and one will receive a completely free season ticket for 2010/11.
Seats really are selling fast and with a few ST holders from last year still to renew, the team are confident of smashing through the magic 750 barrier.
“We are still holding season ticket seats not yet renewed until 31st July” continues Hodgkinson, “so there is still time for you to get your preferred seat for what is looking to be the most exciting Devils season in years.”
Perhaps most impressive of all the season ticket numbers is the percentage of new sales – 26% of all sales this year were not season ticket holders last year.
“That kind of growth is a dream for a sports club” said Hodgkinson, “we have a real buzz about the office for the new season, and every member of the team is actively selling tickets, sponsorship and promoting the club which explains our success so far.”
The Devils have seen a strong uptake on their direct debit payment method, but with a good split of DD and payment in full, revenue streams for the Devils are balanced and strong.
The job is not yet finished however.
New CEO Paul Ragan has brought a fresh drive and powerful commercial expertise to the Devils. He told Devils TV “it is my job to never be satisfied, to make sure that it’s never enough” and that is true. His response to hitting 750?
“Wouldn’t it be great to get to 1000?”
That drive is pushing the Devils to new heights in the South Wales business community, and with 8 weeks to go until the start of the new season, there’s plenty more great news to come.
